Welcome to the Adventure of the American Mind administration page. This section provides the information and documentation necessary to administer the AAM program.

If you are new to the program, we are pleased that you are interested in partnering with The Education and Research Consortium of the Western Carolinas in a program designed to enhance the quality of education through the use of technology and the vast on-line digital resources of the Library of Congress.

Conference Calendar

This calender of selected educational conferences is provided for the convenience and planning of AAM Partners.

Partner Meetings

The Education and Research Consortium hosts three AAM Partner meetings per year. The AAM management team uses these meetings as an outlet for providing Directors with Program information such as strategic planning, special project updates, administrative changes, and reports submitted to the Library of Congress. The AAM Partner meetings also provide an excellent forum for Partner Directors to exchange program related ideas and experiences. The Partner Meetings web page provides details on meeting agendas, locations, directions, and lodging options.

Sub-Grantee Agreement

A sample of the contract between participating institutions and the Education and Research Consortium of the Western Carolinas outlining each participant’s responsibilities. The Library of Congress grants funds to the ERC who then sub-grants funds to participating institutions.

AAM Operating Procedures

The AAM Operating Procedures provides Partners with an outline of policies and procedures regarding accounting structure, purchasing contracts, and travel.

AAM Partner Contact List

The AAM Partner contact list is a link to the wealth of diverse experience and information available from our program directors and their staff. The AAM community is highly collaborative and we urge all current, new and future partners and their staff to make contact with their colleagues.

Staffing

Sample job descriptions for the following AAM funded positions at partnering institutions: AAM Project Director, Digital Preservationist and Administrative Support.

AAM Related Forms

The following documents are provided for the convenience of partnering institutions: Line Item Definitions, Line Item Transfers, Sub-grantee Prior Approval Form, Budget Worksheet Template, and the ASAP Request Form.

OMB Circulars

Links to the OMB circulars (A-110, A-122, and A-133) that govern the administration, accounting and auditing guidelines of the AAM Program. AAM Partners are expected to be familiar with and in compliance of these circulars.

Collateral Materials

Here AAM Partners can find various documents and templates to assist in the development of web sites, AAM-related documents, and more, and the AAM logo in a variety of file formats.

Quotes from AAM Teachers:
